My favorite part of the program is learning a diverse set of skills that gives me a practical foundation on which I can specialize.
I’m a non-traditional student who started my studies after serving in the Marines as a helicopter mechanic. I’ve always been interested in learning about how things work and solving problems through this understanding. Through mathematical reasoning it is possible to gain insights that may help in making informed decisions. I’m pursuing Scientific Computing and Applied Mathematics because as I continue to learn I see how much more I can improve and how much more there is to learn, and both motivate me to continue my academic career. My favorite part of the program is learning a diverse set of skills that gives me a practical foundation on which I can specialize. It has been both a challenging and rewarding experience thus far that would not have been possible without the collaboration of my peers and professors.
